For the first time in more than forty years, Victoria Ballet Theatre will unveil a completely reimagined production of its beloved holiday classic, The Nutcracker.

Debuting December 5–6, 2026, this historic new production represents a full artistic rebuild of the ballet that has been a holiday tradition for Victoria families for generations.

The reimagined production will feature:

• All new choreography by Executive Artistic Director Brenda Serrata Tally
• Entirely new sets and costumes
• A renewed artistic vision designed to carry the tradition forward for decades to come

Created in collaboration with the artistic team behind VBT’s acclaimed productions of Alice in Wonderland and Madeline, The Nutcracker will combine imaginative visual design with expanded storytelling and theatrical scale.

The production will premiere at the Victoria Fine Arts Center, allowing Victoria Ballet Theatre to welcome larger audiences and expand educational access for regional schoolchildren.

Each year, approximately 150 community members join the stage alongside company dancers and professional guest artists to bring this cherished holiday classic to life. Community auditions for children and adults interested in performing in the production will be held on September 20, 2026. Victoria Ballet Theatre invites community members to participate in this cherished holiday tradition. Tickets to The Nutcracker go on sale August 1. Season ticket packages for all three season performances go on sale July 1.
